Donald Trump’s impeachment trial ends in chaos as Republican senator Mike Lee angrily demands Democrats withdraw evidence that Trump phoned him by mistake to pressure another senator to overturn election

The first day of arguments at President Donald Trump‘s second impeachment trial ended in chaos when Sen. Mike Lee tried to object to evidence that referenced him.

‘Statements were attributed to me moments ago by the House impeachment managers, statements related to the content of conversations between – a phone call involving President Trump and Senator Tuberville, were not made by me, they’re not accurate and they’re contrary to fact,’ Lee said on the heels of primary impeachment manager, Rep. Jamie Raskin, saying they were done for the day.

Lee took issue with part of Rep. David Cicilline’s presentation, which was supposed to show the senators where Trump’s mind was at during the deadly January 6 siege.

Sen. Mike Lee delayed the close of the first day of arguments at President Donald Trump's impeachment trial by trying to strike evidence from the record. Lee was mentioned because Trump had accidentally tried to call his phone to reach Sen. Tommy Tuberville

Democratic impeachment managers pointed out, again and again, that Trump never explicitly told his supporters to stand down, as they invaded the Capitol, hunted lawmakers and participated in hand-to-hand combat with police.

Trump was impeached by the House last month for inciting the insurrection and the Senate will decide whether he should be convicted on that charge.

On Wednesday night, Cicilline told an anecdote that was based on a story in Deseret News that cited Lee as its source.

During the insurrection Trump accidentally called Lee’s cell phone trying to get ahold of Alabama Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville instead.

‘Senator Lee describes it, he had just ended a prayer with his colleagues here in the Senate chamber and the phone rang, it was Donald Trump,’ Cicilline said.

‘And how Senator Lee describes it is the phone call goes something like this,’ the Rhode Island Democrat continued. ‘”Hey Tommy,”‘ Trump asks. And Senator Lee says this isn’t Tommy. And he hands the phone to Sen. Tuberville.’

‘Senator Lee stood by as Senator Tuberville and President Trump spoke on the phone and on that call Donald Trump reportedly asked Senator Tuberville to make additional objections to the certification process,’ Cicilline explained.

In the Deseret News story, Lee doesn’t divulge the contents of the call, though he does say that in speaking to Tuberville after the Alabama senator’s conversation with Trump that he got the impression the president didn’t know that the protesters were laying siege to the Capitol.

Lee also told the publication that Tuberville and Trump spoke for about five to 10 minutes. He said he stood nearby to ensure he didn’t lose his phone in the commotion.

Other news organizations reported that Trump pressured Tuberville to keep objecting to states’ Electoral College vote counts.

‘That’s why he called,’ Cicilline had said in disgust.

The Dispatch reported on a voicemail left for Tuberville by Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani that day, but he dialed the number of a different unnamed senator.

In the message, Giuliani is heard asking Tuberville to ‘slow it down.’

‘The only strategy we can follow is to object to numerous states and raise issues so that we get ourselves into tomorrow – ideally until the end of tomorrow,’ Giuliani said.

After his initial request to get Cicilline’s statements struck from the record, Lee explained, ‘my point was not about whether it was appropriate for them to make characterizations, my point was to strike them because they were false.’

‘Statements were attributed to me repeatedly to which I have personal knowledge because I am the source, they are not true,’ Lee said.

With the use of ‘reportedly’ Cicilline didn’t directly attribute the contents of the call to Lee.

‘I never made those statements I asked that they be stricken,’ the Utah Republican said. ‘This has nothing to do with whether they are based on depositions, which they’re not, it’s simply based on the fact that I’m the witness, I’m the only witness, those statements are not true and I ask that you strike them.’

After a few procedural hiccups with Sen. Patrick Leahy at the gavel, Raskin, the chief impeachment manager, said the Democrats would voluntarily withdraw that piece of evidence – with the understanding they could bring it back up if needed.

‘This is much ado about nothing, because it’s not critical in anyway to our case,’ Raskin said.

Afterward, Tuberville was asked by reporters what had been incorrect about Cicilline’s retelling of the call, which Lee had said lasted five to 10 minutes.

‘I don’t know, you know President Trump, you don’t get many words in but he didn’t get a chance to say a whole lot because I said, “Mr. President, they just took the vice president out, I’ve got to go,”‘ Tuberville said. ‘That’s what it was.’

SHOCK: Senator Ted Cruz Does a Total 180, Completely Turns On Donald Trump in Rant

The GOP has made it clear that they intend on throwing President Donald Trump to the curb.

During a segment on “VERDICT with Ted Cruz,” the Republican Senator did a total 180 and completely unleashed on former President Trump for his “overheated rhetoric” about the 2020 election and alleged voter fraud.

Ironically, Cruz was one of the few Senators to challenge the electoral college vote.

“President Trump’s rhetoric, I think, went way too far over the line,” Cruz said on the show. “I think it was both reckless and irresponsible because he said repeatedly—and he said over and over again—he won by a landslide; there was massive fraud; it was all stolen everywhere. That evidence, the campaign did not prove that in any court, and to make a determination about an election it has to be based on the evidence, and so simply saying the result you want, that’s not responsible and you’ve never heard me use language like that. What I’ve said is voter fraud is real, and we need to examine the evidence, and look at the actual facts; and in particular, what is the evidence of how much voter fraud occurred, and did it occur in sufficient quantities and in sufficient states to alter the outcome of the election. That would have been the mandate of the election commission; to assess.”

The divide within the Republican Party seems to be increasing.

Over the weekend, Republican Senator Mitt Romney and Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia went off on each other on Twitter over their different views about President Trump.

Greene has been facing criticism from the GOP after she continues to voice her concerns about election integrity. On Saturday, Greene released a tweet, stating that she had a “GREAT call” with President Trump.

“I had a GREAT call with my all time favorite POTUS, President Trump!” Greene tweeted. “I’m so grateful for his support and more importantly the people of this country are absolutely 100% loyal to him because he is 100% loyal to the people and America First.”

“You can never beat him because We The People have his back,” she continued. “The blood thirsty media and the socialists hate America Democrats are attacking me now just like they always attack President Trump. I can promise you this. I won’t back down. I’ll never apologize. And I’ll always keep fighting for the people. For me, it’s America First!!! Any elected politician that isn’t putting America First doesn’t deserve their position or the people’s trust.”

“America Last policies are policies for sell outs and losers! In these divisive times, real leaders must be determined and strong to be able to withstand the rabid mob that preys on weakness in order to get their way, which is to destroy our country,” she added.

“Yes there is an enemy within. And that enemy is a poisonous rot of socialist policies and America last sell outs who are pompous hypocrites that believe they are untouchable elites.”

Romney immediately tried blasting Greene for her comments, tweeting, “Lies of a feather flock together: Marjorie Taylor Greene’s nonsense and the ‘big lie’ of a stolen election.”

Greene fired back, completely humiliating the RINO Senator.

““Republican” Senator Mitt Romney obviously cares nothing about the people’s number one concern,” she tweeted. “Please grow a pair or a spine.”

Photos and reactions as Donald Trump vacates the White House with his family.

It was indeed an emotional moment as the immediate past American President, Donald Trump vacated the White House with his entire family, which included both his immediate and extended family. This comes after Joe Biden and his Vice, Kamala Harris were sworn into office today, January 20, 2021.

Recall that Trump was defeated at the polls during the November 2020 US Presidential election by the Democratic Party candidate, Joe Biden. In spite the fact that election was marred with lots of controversies, accusations and counter accusations, Joe Biden eventually emerged winner of the keenly contested election.

Many persons had thought that Donald Trump wouldn’t consent to a peaceful transition going by his utterances and some other actions, especially after he lost the election. But all that thoughts and fears were defeated today as Biden became the 46th President of the United States of America.

Unfortunately, Donald Trump’s time at the White House finally came to an end today, and this evening, photos have emerged as him and his beautiful family were leaving the seat of power after four years as the US President.

Meanwhile, several persons have been reacting to the latest development. Some other person expressed joy and happiness as he leaves the White House, while some others were unhappy and sympathized with the Ex-President.

“This one touch me, I don’t know if I should cry or laugh,” @iamflorencechioma commented.

“He’ll be back in four years time and he’ll loose again,” @dumebiblog wrote.

“Pride comes before a fall,” @quickbrownies.ng wrote.

US Election: Data Analysis Finds 221,000 Pennsylvania Votes Switched From Donald Trump To Joe Biden

President Donald Trump had just taken to his official page to release some new information regarding the just concluded United States presidential election.

Remember that Donald Trump has refused to concede to defeat even though Associated Press has called the race in favor of Joe Biden.

Just few minutes ago he took to Twitter to write that data analysis revealed that about 221,000 Pennsylvania state votes was switched from him to Joe Biden. Furthermore, he revealed that states that used dominion voting system switched 435,000 votes from Donald Trump to Joe Biden.

See his Tweet Below;

He also stated in the tweet that dominion voting system deleted 2.7 million votes casted in his favor nationwide.

Donal Trump credited the latest news report and findings to Channel Rion and OANNN. If this claims should substantiate it would further prove that Trump was right about the election being rigged.

I do not know if his claims has been confirmed by electoral officials or not but I know that this is really a strong claim that he just made.

This is what will happen after Trump leaves office – Pastor Oyakhilome releases prophecy

– Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has released a prophecy on what will happen in the world after President Donald Trump leave office
– Oyakhilome forecasted that things will not go back to being rosy immediately Trump vacates the White House
– The Nigerian cleric added that the US president is not popular among some top Americans because of his support for Christians
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy has released a powerful prophecy on the future of America and the world after the presidential election.

In a recent sermon, Pastor Oyakhilome forecasted that if Americans, especially Christians believe that everything in their nation and around the globe will be as they have ever dreamed, then they are wrong.

The cleric warned Christians not to be fooled into thinking that the defeat of Donald Trump will end the problems they face presently.

He said:

“If you are a Christian, better know this. Don’t think that if we just get Trump out of the way then everything will just calm. It will not be calm. They hate you and he seems to protect you, that is the problem.”

The famous Nigerian pastor claimed that Trump lost his popularity among the American elite due to two factor: the first being that he did not go to them for sponsorship during his campaign in 2015 and that secondly, the former US leader supported Christians while in power.

Oyakhilome noted that before Trump’s victory in the 2015 presidential election, he was the darling of the American aristocracy, but after assuming office, he became an obstacle.

His words:

“They are angry at Trump for supporting Christians. So the real ones they hate are you who are Christians. That is what the hatred of Trump is all about. It’s got nothing to do with Trump.

“Before he started giving his voice in support of Christians and before he started giving his voice in support of Israel, he was their darling, they loved him.

“But because he didn’t come for their sponsorship and they didn’t expect him to become President, they blamed the Christians for voting him into office and that is what they hate him for.”

Meanwhile, Trump had given conditions under which he would consider a peaceful transfer of power.

The president was willing to commit to a smooth transfer of power if his campaign’s legal efforts at challenging the election result fails.

Buratai to Soldiers: Don’t be afraid of ICC war crime charges

Buratai to Soldiers: Don’t be afraid of ICC war crime charges

Chief of Army Staff Tukur Buratai has instructed Nigerian soldiers to not be afraid of war crime charges at the International Criminal Court.

Mr. Buratai, at a meeting of military brass-hats on Monday, said Nigerian soldiers should be aware that their activities were carried out in line with the Nigerian Constitution.

Nigerian soldiers have “every right under the Constitution to carry out assigned and legitimate roles of maintaining law and order in aid of civil authorities and other security agencies,” Mr. Buratai said according to transcripts of the meeting circulated by Army spokesman Sagir Musa.

Mr. Buratai’s comments came a week after Nigerian soldiers opened fire at unarmed protesters in Lagos, killing at least nine. The attack has been widely condemned around the world, with top voices like Bill Clinton and Donald Trump demanding immediate investigations.

President Muhammadu Buhari has yet to hold anyone accountable for the massacre, fuelling speculation that he ordered it as the commander in chief. In 2015, the Nigerian president justified the massacre of over 1,000 Shiites in Zaria, saying they were wrong to have tapped military generals in the chest at a checkpoint.

The Nigerian Army has been under pressure to come clean on its decision and release bodies that are suspected to be in its custody for proper burial.
Some Nigerians at home and abroad also filed complaints to the Netherlands-based ICC, receiving an acknowledgement from its top prosecutor Fatou Bensouda last week.

Mr. Buratai was also the military chief at the heart of the Shiite massacre of December 2015, which analysts said had set him up for potential trial at the Hague when added to civilians killed as they sang the national anthem in Lagos on October 20.

The military action in Lagos sparked thug violence across the capital, which saw valuable assets looted or set on fire. At least 27 police stations were also burnt during the rage.

But Mr. Buratai, who repeatedly lobbied Mr. Buhari to quell protests against police brutality with the military, remained defiant on Monday and urged his subordinates not to be afraid of defending the country at all cost.

Mr. Buratai said anyone who doubts their commitment to their constitutional responsibilities must be made to know that they remain committed, loyal and unwavering in ensuring the unity, stability and security of our dear country Nigeria, Mr. Sagir reported.

The Army chief urged soldiers to dismiss critics of their activities as agents of destabilisation who care little about the country’s overall interest.
